Bukit bintang

Bukit Bintang lies within Jalan Imbi, Jalan Raja Chulan and Jalan Pudu. This here is the entertainment and shopping district in Kuala Lumpur's Golden Triangle. From shopping malls to food gastronomy as well as IT related items all can be found in Bukit Bintang. 
Pavilion KL – Located next to JW Marriot Hotel and Starhill Gallery, 5 min walk from the Bukit Bintang Monorail Station. Over 500 stores to visit, you will hardly miss a thing when visiting Pavilion. Be sure to ask the information counter for Tourist Privileges as you do get discounts from participating stores.

Jalan Alor – Formerly a Red Light district, Jalan Alor is now literally a food street. This place comes alive after sundown, with open-air stalls lined with tables and chairs for patrons.  Great atmosphere and casual dining to sample the assortment of Malaysian cuisine.

Changkat Bukit Bintang – If the idea of a nightlife at Jalan Alor doesn’t suit you, then you can check out Changkat BB. From international restaurants, cocktail lounges, bars, pubs, and clubbing scenes. The experience over here is totally different from Jalan Alor, so be sure to check it out. Note that some outlets may require proper dress code.

Imbi Market – This is the place you would not want to miss if you happen to stay within Bukit Bintang area. There is the wet market section for the locals to purchase fresh produce and meat, and the popular hawker section where you will find a decent variety of Malaysian food. The market is open early in the morning and usually closes around lunch time. Be sure to check out the Nasi Lemak, Ah Weng Koh Hainan Tea, Chee Cheong Fun, Char Kuey Teow, Crispy Popiah, Wantan Mee, Curry Mee, and many more. Best to come here on an empty stomach and bring lots of friends so that you can order and share the flavours instead of having to finish everything on your own.

Starhill Gallery – This is a luxury retail mall from couture to jewelry to dining. It is not as huge as the Pavilion, but comes with a direct link to JW Marriot Hotel. There is also a standalone Sephora outlet located right in front of Starhill Gallery.

Lot 10 – Just right outside the Bukit Bintang Monorail station, you will see Lot 10 shopping centre. Boutique stores include Zara and H&M among others. Be sure to check out the Hutong Food court at the lower level with a nice selection of famous local Chinese cuisines.

Low Yat Plaza – This is the largest IT Mall in Malaysia, with various products ranging from digital hardware and software. Handphones, tablets, laptops, desktops, av equipment and many more can all be found in this one stop digital centre in Kuala Lumpur. Be sure to do some price comparisons before deciding to make a purchase.

Sungei Wang Plaza – One of the older malls in Kuala Lumpur, which you can get some bargains for clothing and shoes, other tenants have either move on to newer malls or closed down. Most shoppers would prefer to go over to Pavillion Shopping Mall instead.

Fahrenheit 88 – This five storey shopping mall focuses mainly on fashion boutiques, with UNIQLO being their anchor tenant occupying 3 floors facing the Pavilion Mall. There also assortment of food and entertainment outlets. F&B outlets are open till midnight. Above the mall is Fahrenheit Suites with one to three bedroom apartments available for stay. This will make your stay in Bukit Bintang pleasant and within reach of most attractions.

Arab Street – Also known as Ain Arabia. Located at Jalan Berangan. From the month of July till September, this place is packed with Arab tourists on vacation. Over here you can experience authentic Arabian dishes and get a feel of their lifestyle through the streets of Kuala Lumpur.

Imbi Plaza – This was the go-to place for IT stuff, before Low Yat Plaza became popular. The place was not maintained well compared to the surrounding options and has deteriorated to current condition. Customers well versed in their trade will still be able to find a bargain with some haggling, instead most would recommend going to Low Yat Plaza for your IT needs.

Berjaya Times Square – Situated in front of Monorail Station Imbi, Berjaya Times Square is one of many shopping malls located in Kuala Lumpur, this one differentiates itself with an indoor amusement park.
